GINGER HERB RAMEN

DEAR READERS,

The first thing you need to know in order to cook Ramen (or any Japanese Style Dish) is this.. FOOD IS ZEN! and in order to make the perfect Ramen you must give it every part of yourself.. all your attention.. you must become the Ramen…

in Japan Ramen is taken rather seriously. most authentic Ramen houses have OLD FAMILY RECIPES
which are kept very secret. the only person who can know the recipe is the cook. there is usually one cook, and he works the entire day. unfortunately most authentic Ramen Recipes have meat in them.. :(
but who's to say that a good Ramen has to have meat in it..

Well lucky for you I have made a perfect recipe, that is easy to make, and meat free.. and what says ZEN better than GINGER HERB?

so here you go folks… enjoy!

SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK

Dear Readers, I am sick. sick, sick, sick. and very uncomfortable. I stayed in bed all morning and now its almost 10am and I still haven't showered or done anything really. Okay so I just fed the cat. anyway yesterday I watched movies all day and fell asleep rather early. today I think that I will start making the Ramen recipe that I owe you. I think Ramen will make me feel a lot better. though I may have to go to whole foods in order to get a few key ingredients. but either way I don't think the task will be too much for me to handle. especially with my in room kitchen set up that I have been working with. its really nice to be able to cook in your room, even though it can be kind of cluster f*#$ it is still nice for me to avoid going up and down those stairs. I originally got the idea from my sister who has lived in dorms and now has a microwave and coffee maker in her room to avoid pissing off her house mates, who from what I understand are against microwaves. any way, yesterday sucked. all I did all day was edit footage to put up online where nobody would appreciate it anyway. at least I am fucking making something. its funny how nobody cares that I am making these films, I doubt that people watch them all the way through if they even care to click the link in the first place, while at the same time they send me mafia war and farmville app invites like its the best thing in the world. I don't care though.

last night I had a dream that I was taken to an old irish town. I was taken there by men in suits, who I assume were supposed to be irish men, but they were dressed like Hasidic jews. anyway when we got there they took me into a huge palace. or mansion. I can't really remember if it was a palace or just a huge house. but when I asked why they had taken me there they told me I was a true son of the lord and that I would have to remain in the estate until I was old enough to rule the land. I tried to explain to them that I had no knowledge or urge to rule a kingdom but they kept telling me that same thing…"you are a true son of the lord and you will rule the kingdom" I still don't understand exactly what they were talking about but anyway, they wouldn't let me leave. I don't remember what happened next but I do remember that an old friend "kristen" was in the dream and also a few kids from my woodworking classes when I lived in San Diego. it was a pretty strange dream and waking from it was a relief. the old irish men kept trying to shove me into this dirty bathtub and told me "a true king must be clean and shaven in order to properly rule the land" I remember feeling very uncomfortable about this and trying to leave.

aside from that, I am a very dirty boy right now, and in order to properly make good Ramen tonight I am going to have to jump in the shower. so please excuse me folks...
that is if there are even any readers at all.

A LOST VIDEO ZONE EXPERIENCE-by. Trevor Martin

When I found this footage I was shocked. I couldn't believe it, I guess you could say I was overjoyed. even though the footage isn't that great, and I only had a small portion of it, I knew that is was footage that I might never have a chance to get again.

I originally wanted to use a song that was actually playing during some of the footage,
the song "the grid" by. mike gordon and leo kottke. but I no longer had a copy of the song, and I am pretty sure that their music is protected. so I decided to go with the BJM song. which in the end I think makes for a cooler soundtrack choice.

I apologize if the vlog seems to go nowhere, for the parts without music, I literally played all the footage I had of this event, unedited! somewhere in my stolen computer out there is the rest of the footage from this time period. but its likely that I will never have them again.

so this is the only real records I have of this time period. though the videos may not reach out to most of the people who may come across this video. I know that a few of us will treasure these clips for what they are, and for what they represent in our lives.

at times I look back at the past and think, you know I am sure that I would have cherished those days if I had taken more pictures or videos. thats why I do these vlogs and blogs and shorts anyway. someday I may be looking back at these, and I think it will be comforting to know that I have a good representation of who I was, or what I was doing. anyway hope you enjoy the video even a little bit. :)

BOUT-the roller derby film

Okay Folks! here it is finally.
I am sorry it took me so long to get up. I was having trouble uploading it. and still the version I post here will be a low quality version until I can get a better version up.

Let me know what you thought!

EX COMEBACK Top 5 list

Lately I have been visited by some attempts of communication from some Ex's if I may be so bold.
Its strange how it works. you may find yourself at one point trying and trying to get through to them, waiting by the phone with some dream that they will come to their senses. a hope that they will find the magic that you can clearly see. then after a few weeks you stop trying, then a month goes by and you don't feel so sad. before you know it you are over them and couldn't believe that you had acted so obsessive over someone so insignificant. then before you know it they miss you, or need closure, or whatever.. and they have to talk to you, or want to see you, or whatever..

I was watching High Fidelity tonight and in the film ( and the book for that matter ) the main character is obsessed with making top 5 lists. well tonight I decided to make a top 5 of my own.
so here is my "top 5 Ex COMEBACK list"..

#1 loose fur-"answers to your questions"
#2 Rolling Stones-"time is on my side"
#3 Hem-"he came to meet me"
#4 Crystal Gayle-"i wanna come back to you"
#5 Del Shannon-"hats off to larry"

what about you guys, what are the top 5 songs for Ex Comebacks

DOES LOS ANGELES HAVE ANY CULTURE?

I am taking a English class right now of which is the study of writers of Los Angeles. My teacher is focusing at the moment on the argument of wether Los Angeles has any culture.

As a Native Californian I must say that I truly believe that Los Angeles has lots of culture and a very interesting past. sure it isn't all peaches and roses but between the days of the Gold Rush, or during the depression, or the music or film from Los Angeles. there has most definitely been culture in my opinion.

so readers (if there are any of you out there)
what do you think about Los Angeles? Does it
have any culture? what does the culture mean
to you?

If you aren't from Los Angeles or have never
been there, what are your opinions on Los Angeles?

comment please!

Good Morning

Morning for some Poeple is the most dreadful part of the day, though for some people morning is their favorite part of the day… One thing is for sure, it is all down hill from here.

I never really liked mornings to be honest. I have always had this problem where I wake up too early. usually with only 5 hours of sleep.
I would try to do things like go to bed earlier so that I could get some sleep before the inevitable 6:00 wake up. but I just wake up earlier. Like my body has adapted to little sleep. Sometimes I feel like my body refuses to function unless it can barely do so.

one major problem I have had is the ability to handle a balanced breakfast. I just can't eat in the morning. my stomach wont handle it. usually if I have a full breakfast my stomach will be messed up until after lunch time, which sometimes will prevent me from eating lunch at all. one thing that is a must have for me is a cup of "JOE". not only can I handle coffee in the early morning, but I absolutely must have it if I plan on being fully functional. sometimes I have no choice to skip out. but I will find myself in full fiend by the early afternoon.

I want some feedback, tell me what your mornings are like.. how do you feel?, what do you eat?, what time do you wake up?, are you obsessed with coffee?

Please Comment… cuz I want to know

So Apparently I was Right

Dear Blog,

Apparently I was right, the service is back on! ( recap for anybody who didn't already know ) = I am supposed to serve somebody legal papers who I cannot name for legal reasons. anyway it is a divorce case, and as I stated in a previous Blog entry they "GOT BACK TOGETHER" and the job was called off. well just as I stated in the that previous entry " it is off for another week".. sure enough today (a week later) I get the text letting me know that the deal is back on.

I guess I know how these break up things go!

anyway, I have been working on the ROLLER DERBY footage. I know I told some people that I would have it finished today… but unfortunately I am taking my time with it. I want to do a good job and I don't want to miss any good footage, or leave anything great out. so sorry everybody.. maybe tomorrow.

Well I will have a video up soon ( aside from my PSA about voting ) which I encourage all of you to vote, I promise I will post a great recipe with full instructions on how I made it, including pictures, tips, and maybe even video!!! and as a bonus I will teach you how to make special wheat meat. so make sure you vote so you have a chance at the Ramen that best describes you!

LIFE ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN

I love working with film. it gives you a different perspective on everything surrounding you. sure sometimes behind a camera you aren't really experiencing what is happening, but once you are home and at your computer with whatever editing system you use.. that is when you are in control of the situation. you can slow things down or speed it up, drown it out with music, overlap images, etc…

you become the master and you can make the footage feel however you want it to feel.

I have been working with the ROLLER DERBY footage and am having a lot of fun with it. I remember driving home that night knowing exactly what songs I would use, and what clips I would open and close with.

Now being at home and realizing that all of those Ideas were perfect choices and it are really working just the way I want it to. I have never really edited sports footage, or any real action footage before and I am really loving it.

so anyway, the film should be up soon. I can't say how long, I still have about 30 min of footage to shred/mold/molest and I have already been editing since 3:30. so I could use a bit of a break. but I will try to get the footage up as soon as I possibly can. so be ready!!

fucking shit!

DEAR BLOG

I finally started working on the "ROLLER DERBY" footage last night. It is looking pretty cool and I haven't even started with the action scenes. right now it is all intro and opening credits. I also came across some thought to be lost footage. which I refuse to describe at the moment on account of trying to surprise David Estrin. I have a bit of a tummy ache. I blame this fully on DEL TACO. which I am trying not to eat anymore, But I keep finding myself there ordering the number 15 with no cheese and opt for the macho fries.

UPDATE (in regards to the service)

Turns out the divorce is off. they are getting back together. so my services are no longer needed!

in Translation: "the service will be put off for another week"

Last Night and What is Supposed to Happen Today!

DEAR BLOG,
so last night I ended up driving out to lake forest and watching "the shoemaker brothers" it wasn't entirely bad. I didn't mind the music too much, although it wasn't my favorite concert ever. it was in this kind of yuppy bar called "OUR PLACE" which you honestly wouldn't be able to spot unless you were looking for the place. there was a small sign in the front of the joint. it was one of those BAR NEON LIGHT signs. and it wasn't even lit... anyhow after struggling through that gig I went off to drop my mail off since I am unable to send it from my own house on account of mail tampering. then I drove my shaky car straight home. I think there is something seriously wrong with my car. I could be wrong but recently when I was changing the tire the jack tipped over and the car landed on its naked wheel. which I really think may have damaged the axel because the whole thing seems kind of shaky.

then I arrived home at last. I over fed myself with pistachios ( It seems impossible to control ones self when eating pistachios ) and I illegally downloaded Joanna Newsom's new Record. I'm sorry Joanna I am going to buy it when it is released I just couldn't wait to hear it you understand. I just woke up about 10 min ago and popped online to discover that Broken Social Scene posted a single off their new record, which is FUCKING AWESOME! the next best thing that could happen would be if BJM gave me a taste of their up and coming. but lets not be greedy.

I should be getting ready right now. I guess that today I am supposed to really serve this lady her divorce papers. which has been a push and pull thing. I hope she is an easy serve. the thing is I really am not in the mood to drive out to san diego to put myself though hell chasing some bitch, so It would be really cool if she just accepted her service. any way I really shouldn't talk too much about it. but I will say this. while I am out there I will be sure to stop by my favorite SD vegan hop spot, and grab some vegan sushi!! but first... before all of that shit... FRESH MEXICAN COFFEE!

BACK TO SCHOOL

Okay so school has started again! Unfortunately I have classes on fridays now, which I usually work on fridays. unfortunately that is the only day that I really work. so I think I am going to have to discontinue my employment for the time being. which isn't a very good thing because I really need money. being a student doesn't pay the bills and it takes a lot of money to keep a healthy mind.

I was able to add JAP 2, which is great because I really need to learn this language fast! My teach seems alright... she does seem a little more intense than Tatsugawa sensei but maybe that will force me to learn faster. I am also taking a fresh English class which is kind of boring and I have not yet decided wether I like the Teacher or not. luckily I only have to be there 3 days a week, for an hour each session. so I won't really have to see her face too much. I just have to make sure I do the work and research regardless of how she teaches. I am also enrolled in a audio production class, which seems boring yet informative. I am happy to be taking the class but I can't help but wish that I had chosen something more exiting to put between these two seemingly tumultuous classes. but I guess I would rather just get this stuff done.

In other news I have been cook, cook, cooking!
I made seitan the last two nights, last night I made blood orange flavored "beef" with Ramen. It was pretty good. I still don't feel that I have made a good enough soup base for my Ramen. and I don't think I will cook the noodles in the broth anymore. there seems to be a starchy quality to my latest Soups which I blame on the noodles. I still have a lot a seitan left from yesterday and I think today I will attempt a soy house beef dish. I feel like rice today anyway.

tonight I am supposed to go see some band my mom likes in Lake Forest called "THE SHOEMAKER BOTHERS" I wasn't amazed by the songs on their MYSPACE profile but I decided to go and see how their live show holds up. because a lot of people seem to like them.
I really want to make a video blog too but I probably wont get it posted until tomorrow.

so on that note I would like to show you a special trick that I learned last night..
Please enjoi!
